Spox: Russian cbank still expects inflation at 5–5.5% in 2019
MOSCOW, Jan 11 (PRIME) -- The Russian central bank still expects annual inflation to amount to 5.0–5.5% in 2019, a spokesperson told PRIME on Friday.
“The central bank still expects that annual inflation in 2019 will amount to 5.0–5.5%,” the official said.
On Thursday, the Federal State Statistics Service said that inflation was 4.3% in 2018, exceeding the 4% target set by the central bank.
The spokesperson said that the last forecast of the authority for 2018 published in mid-December was based on data covering a limited range of goods in early December.
